You should always be careful when driving your Toyota Fortuner in the Philippines, or any other car for that matter. But sometimes you just can’t help it that you didn’t get enough sleep the night before, or are completely distracted with so many things going on in your life. To boost your focus, here are some foods you can eat to improve your focus and your concentration to make your driving safe.
Food provides nourishment for the body. It contains many essential nutrients to keep us healthy, such as proteins, fats, and vitamins and minerals, that the cells absorbs to store or burn to provide us with energy, stimulate growth and repair, and maintain life.
What happens when you skip a meal?
When you skip a meal, you’ll run low on the nutrients that provides your body with the energy it needs to keep you going. Missing meals will lead to fatigue and poor mental function, and other health problems. Your brain needs glucose to function, and that comes from the food you eat. This means that food will affect your mental clarity, mood, memory, and your ability to focus.
Foods that boost alertness
According to studies, the antioxidants in blueberries improve the blood and oxygen flow to the brain, keeping your mind fresh, and helping you keep your focus.
This is another fruit that enhances blood flow to the brain. Blood carries glucose and oxygen to the brain, hence, letting you concentrate and focus more!
DARK chocolatet contains some small amounts of caffeine, which helps improve alertness. It also helps you de-stress by stimulating the release of the happy chemicals endorphins and serotonin. You don’t have to eat it every day, but every once in a while, eat a small chunk and it greatly improve your focus.
They are good sources of vitamin E, which helps keep your mind active as you grow older, and you only need about an ounce of them a day! They also contain amino acids that help you focus.
Tea has caffeine, which improves your alertness. However, green tea also has l’theanine to slowly release the caffeine (rather than all in one go) and increases the feeling of tranquility. The slow release of caffeine helps you focus longer and better, and doesn’t result in a crash like if you were to drink pure coffee.
These contain B-vitamins, magnesium, fiber, and omega-3, and they all help with focus and mental clarity. Flax seeds are super foods, which also help with weight loss. They great sprinkled on your morning meals such as cereal and oatmeal, or on your snacks like yogurt.
Ultimately, for these foods and drinks to work, you’re also going to need plenty of rest. Sleep the right amount of hours, and eat these foods, and you’ll be sure that your focus and alertness will be as sharp as it can be.
